What is solar rental and how does it work?
You pay a fixed monthly subscription for a fully installed solar system. Installation, monitoring, maintenance, and support are all included.
Who can rent a solar system?
Homeowners across South Africa who meet the basic property and credit requirements can apply. Tenants may also rent a solar system, however consent from the homeowner is required on the contract. 
Which provinces is this available in?
Our solar rental offering is available in all major metros, with more areas being added. Our consultants will confirm availability in your area.
What’s included in my solar subscription?
Your subscription covers everything you need for your family to reliably enjoy the benefits of solar power. This includes the components of your solar system – such as solar panels, inverter and batteries – as well as installation, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance and support. 
Will maintenance be included?

Yes. We take care of all maintenance, repairs and replacements at no extra cost, so your system always performs at its best.

Who is responsible for fixes or replacements?
We handle any repairs or replacements – you won’t be charged for product failures or normal wear and tear.
Can I add a battery or extra solar panels after installation?
Yes! You can upgrade your system at any time.
Can I upgrade my system?
Absolutely. If your electricity needs change, we’ll help you upgrade your system at any time to meet them.
How will I know my system is being optimised correctly?
We monitor your system 24/7 to ensure it’s running at peak performance, and our support team will reach out if any issues come up.
Will my monthly payments increase over time?
Yes. Your subscription fee will escalate annually in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI). We’ll notify you in advance of any increases.
Is there an upfront payment?
Yes. There’s a once-off administration fee equal to one month’s subscription, invoiced upfront. 
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your subscription covers everything included in your plan – panels, inverter, installation, maintenance, and support. The price of any upgrades or optional add-ons are clearly communicated before you commit.
What if something breaks or needs replacing?
We take care of all repairs and replacements due to normal wear and tear at no extra cost to you. 
How long does the rental agreement last for?
Your contract runs month-to-month and automatically renews each year. You can keep it for as long as you like, and if you decide to cancel, simply let us know in advance. 
Can I buy the solar system at a later stage?
Yes. After three years, you’ll have the option to purchase your system at the price specified in your contract. 
What happens if I move or sell my home?
You can transfer your subscription to the new homeowner, or cancel and have the system uninstalled.
What happens if I want to cancel?
Our rental agreements are designed to be flexible, so you can cancel at any time. A once-off de-installation fee will apply, and the amount will be clearly outlined in your contract.
